  • Why isn't the CF Tube player displaying on a web page?
Some corporate networks, firewalls, and ad-blocking software may prevent the player from displaying. Please check with your Network Administrator to ensure that Flash video is permitted on your network. Also, disable any ad-blocking software that might prevent Flash media from loading.
  • Why is the video blocky or pixelated?
Several factors affect video quality including the data rate, the quality of the original footage, and the version of Flash video used to encode. Please contact the publisher directly with issues related to video quality.
  • How do I get my video on CF Tube?
You have to be a CysticFibrosis.com member to upload videos. Membership is free and only takes a second. To join CysticFibrosis.com, visit http://forums.cysticfibrosis.com/reg.cfm. Once registered, follow the instructions to upload a video.

    • MPEG2
    • MPEG4
    • Quicktime
    • .WMV
  • What kind of setup should I have on my computer to upload?
It should go without saying that you'll need a fast, broadband Internet connection to upload video to CF Tube. A common office LAN, or cable or DSL at home should be fine.
    • Operating System
      • Windows: XP, XP SP2, 2000 and, yes, Vista
      • Mac: Mac OSX 10.2 and later
    • Browser
      • Windows browsers: Internet Explorer 6 or 7, Firefox 1.5, Firefox 2.0

  • I uploaded my video but it hasn't shown up yet. What's up?
While most videos will upload quickly, it can take up to several hours for your video to be live. You will receive a confirmation email once your video is available for viewing.
  • I tried to upload my video but the upload didn't finish. Why?
CF Tube recommends that you have a 256 kbps upload speed. You can check your upload speed at this link: http://www.speakeasy.net/speedtest. If your upload speed is low your uploads may not complete. Try using a faster connection!
  • What is the maximum file size or video length that can be uploaded?
The maximum file size for each upload is 100 MB, which for many of the accepted formats is usually two to three minutes in length. We recommend that you limit your videos to two minutes. Tip: If you have a video that is too long to be uploaded all at once, we suggest dividing it into several shorter chapters, which can then all be uploaded into your account for easy viewing.
  • Is there a limit to the number of videos I can upload?
There is no limit to the number of videos you can upload. Have four DVDs worth of memories you want to share? Go nuts and upload away!
  • What kind of videos can I submit?
You can submit any video as long as you own the necessary rights to display and distribute the content and it doesn't violate our terms of service. We are creating a community that is welcoming to all so please don't post anything harmful, hateful or obscene. We don't permit content that is unlawful, harmful, threatening, abusive, harassing, tortious, defamatory, vulgar, obscene, pornographic, libelous, invasive of privacy or publicity rights, hateful, or racially, sexually, ethnically or otherwise objectionable. Play nice, please!
  • My video is uploaded, but how can I improve the quality?
CF Tube uses best-of-breed technology to convert your video into Flash video, a popular format that works well on the Web and across the CF Tube service. Try to start with high-quality video that is bright or well lit, and has not already been compressed heavily for use on a low quality platform such as a mobile phone.
  • How do I share my video?
Once you upload a video, you'll get a permanent link on CF Tube to that video. You can share this link with anyone you desire.
  • How do I share videos created by others?
You can share any video that is on CF Tube. The sharing features are located on the video playback page to the right of the video window. To send an email that contains a link to the video, fill out the 'Email this Video' form. To post the video on your own website or blog, copy the 'embed code' located to the right of the video window. To copy the link directly (great for IM), click on the 'get link' icon located on the player just below the video window. You can also add any video on CF Tube to the Favorites section of your channel. Simply click the plus icon below the video window to add the video to your favorites.
  • How do I embed video on my website or blog?
You can easily embed your own video or videos created by others in your website or blog. Simply find the video you want to embed. Click 'get code' located to the right of the player on the video playback page. Copy and paste to your website or blog and watch away.
