What is Cystic Fibrosis?
Cystic fibrosis (CF) is a life-threatening disease that causes mucus to build up and clog some of the organs in the body, particularly in the lungs and pancreas. When mucus clogs the lungs, it can make breathing very difficult.

The Forum Categories display our most popular CF health and discussion topics. Opportunities to join in discussions are created for the CF Patient and Caregiver and now we introduce our Relevant Sponsors.

Adults: This is really just a general area for everyone to congregate. If you want your post to be seen by everyone, post in here.

Adults with CF: If you have CF, and want to talk only with other CFers, then this is the place to post. Perhaps you need to vent about the non-Cfers in your life, or you may have a rather graphic question and you do not wish for any non-CFers to distress over it.

Transplants: Are you on a transplant list or have you received a transplant in the past? This is a place for transplant-related support and information.

Newly Diagnosed: It can be different for those who are diagnosed later in life rather than those who are diagnosed at birth. If you are stuggling with a recent diagnosis, this may be a good place to find support.

Pregnancy: If you have CF and are pregnant or trying to become pregnant, then this is the place for you!

Families: This is the family portion of the site, generally not as harsh as the Adult category, but still full of information. Use this category especially if you have a child with CF or if you just found out you are pregnant with a CF child and are looking for support.

Partners: This is an area for those who are close to someone with CF, but do not have CF themselves and only want to talk with other non-CFers. Perhaps you need to vent about a CFer in your life, or perhaps you have a problem which you know CFers won't understand.

Nutrition: If you are looking for information on the nutritional needs of CFers, this may be a good place to start. This is also a good place to share some great high-calorie recipies!

Teenagers and Young People: High school can be rough. High school with cystic fibrosis can be impossible. Here teens can rely on each other for support, or just vent about all those obnoxious adults!

Off Topic: Need a break from cystic fibrosis? Or perhaps you have a good joke to share! This is generally a place of curiousity and laughter, so take a seat and have a good time.

Web logs (blogs): Here is a place to sign up for your very own CF-related blog! It also includes blog help and update information.

Prayer Requests: For those who believe in the power of prayer.

Religion: Struggling with God? Have questions about faith? This is the place for you. Or perhaps you have a great testimony to share! What has God done in your life?

Stories, Artwork and Photos: Share your creativity!

Exercise and Fitness: A good place for information on CF-related exercise and fitness.

Forum Help (FAQs): A place for (non-CF) technical questions and problems pertaining to the site itself.
