Autumn is upon us! Throughout the country, this beautiful time of year presents so many opportunities to exercise outdoors. Maybe you enjoy trail hiking, jogging, cycling, or simply walking. Whatever your preference, autumn promises something for everyone in exercising outdoors comfortably.
In our October eFlash, we focus on strategies for reducing time for airway clearance, techniques for unassisted airway clearance, airway clearance efficacy, and exercising with CF.
CysticFibrosis.com interviewed Mark Elkins, Ph.D. at the CFRI 21st Annual Education Conference. Dr. Elkins, a Research Physiotherapist, in the Respiratory Investigation Unit of Royal Prince Alfred Hospital in Sydney, Australia, discusses strategies to consider for reducing nebulization time as well as strategies relating to structuring the entire session of inhaled and physical therapies for airway clearance. Listen to Dr. Elkins as he speaks to us about the different techniques and strategies for inhalation therapy.
Also, Jerry Cahill, 52 with CF, discusses the missions of the many BEF programs and his personal involvement with the Heroes of Hope Program's podcasting series. Jerry's positive outlook and dedication to CF and exercise make him a leading expert on improving quality of life with CF through exercise.
